LEAD THE RUN.

Athens Road Runners (“ARR”) is looking for 3 new Board members for 2026. The term is for 12 months and may be renewed for up to 36 months (3 years), at this point, a year must be taken off before applying for a Board position again. The time commitment for Board members is at least 12 hours per month.

Some skills that we seek in Board members include but aren't limited to enthusiasm for building community among runners, creative ideas for events and runs, communications, volunteer management, race and training run management, coaching, event planning, legal, accounting.

Currently, there are eleven members of the Board, four officers, the ARR Media and Communications Officer, and six at-large members.  The four officers of the Board are the president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer.  For 2026, existing Board members will fill the officer roles.

We are looking for new Board members to fill at-large positions.  These positions are described below.

Position Description

Member-at-Large: serves as a liaison to the general membership. Duties change as needed to fulfill board requirements and address overall organizational goals. Members-at-large may lead a committee, such as an event committee (e.g., annual meeting, Milledge Mile) or spearhead new initiatives.
